Formerly Bwindi Forest reserve, gazetted in 1942 Overnight, Bwindi became a national park in 1992 and recognized as a world heritage site in 1994. In the local Lukiga language, the word ‘Bwindi’ means impenetrable so the double warning ‘Bwindi Impenetrable is apt for Bwindi is all but impenetrable.   But if the terrain is far from easy to negotiate, it is well worth the effort. A trek through Africa’s most ancient rainforests, in search of the endangered mountain gorilla, ranks among the world premier wildlife encounters. Bwindi lies in south-western Uganda about 530km from Kampala. The park can be reached by road from several directions.

Mountain Gorillas are Uganda’s star attraction and of course she is believed to have the highest population of primates living in the country worldwide. Gorillas share 95% of human genes; they are gentle giants with brown eyes that are not common when looked directly into hence as humble and thrilling as a human being. There are 5 Gorilla groups found in Uganda,4 of them are found  in Bwindi Impenetrable forest, and 1 in Mgahinga National Park hence can only b e visited by a number of 8people per group. The 3 Days Gorilla trekking tour is the shortest safari tour that we offer and this is how it will go about.

Day 1: Leave for Bwindi Impenetrable national Park Gorilla Tour

Drive from Kampala by road and continue south-West in about 8-10hrs drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is famously referred to as the home for Mountain Gorillas, in the park the Montana Forest also create interest for spectacular birds of which, there are 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemics plus the African Green Broadbill, Bar Tailed Trogon and other gorgeous forest species. Make a stop at the Equator for an enlightening talk plus a photographic chance. Afterwards proceed hence make a stop in Mbarara where were we will have your lunch enroute. This journey will take you via Uganda undulating green hills via the highlands, also renowned as the ‘Switzerland of Uganda’ prior to making the last journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, habitat of the mountain gorilla. That night you will nap to the sounds of the mountain rainforest. Overnight at either of the lodges below

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

On this day, you will have to rise up very early to prepare yourself for the most stimulating activity of Gorilla tracking.  Bwindi has 6 habituate go to the ranger station at 8:00am with your lunch boxes and all the required gear where the guides will lead you to track the extraordinary Mountain Gorilla, possibly one of the most exhilarating wildlife experiences on earth. There are currently only almost 700 still existing in the world! The tracking is likely to take between 2 and 6 hours but its glowing worth the attempt. At this part of the tour, you will not have the guide that has been with you from the start of the tour, you will be guided a specialized guide who knows each and everything about the Gorilla. So you are called upon to feel free and ask as many questions as you can while the trek goes on. In the afternoon rest at the camp or in case you are not so tied, participate in a guided village walk to interact with the indigenous Batwa Community. Go back to the Camp in the evening.

Day 3: travel back to Kampala

After a morning breakfast, we will leave Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and drive back to Kampala make a journey break for lunch reaching in the early evening.
